A Good Running Vehicle Isn’t Just Good Luck!

Shamrock CarWhile some people do seem to have better luck with vehicle maintenance and repair issues than others, a great running vehicle isn’t just based on good luck. There are parts of a car that you don’t think about on a daily, monthly or even yearly basis, but maintaining them properly can save you money in the long run. Putting off maintenance on your car is just prolonging the inevitable and going to cost you money in the long run!

Below are some of the most common preventative maintenance services we perform at Burlington Automotive:

TIMING BELT:

Have your timing belt checked. Timing belt life is mileage based and varies depending on the make and model of your vehicle. 100,0000 miles is the average timing belt life.

If you don’t have your timing belt changed it can break or shred while driving and cause major damage to your vehicles engine including bending valves and more.

WATER PUMP:

Just like the timing belt, the water pump has around a 100,000 mile life span as well. Water pumps are often many hours of labor to get to within your vehicle engine compartment thus it makes financial and logistical sense to change it at the same time you change your timing belt.

ALIGNMENT

Get your alignment checked once a year. If you don’t have a proper alignment, that can lead to bad gas mileage and even structural damage.

TIRE PRESSURE

Check your tire pressure at least once a month. The PSI recommendation is on the inside of your door and in your vehicles owner’s manual.

Proper tire pressure can lead to better gas mileage and less wear and tear on your tires over the course of time.

FLUIDS

Remember, your vehicle’s fluids are like the blood of your vehicle and keep everything flowing smoothly.

Oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid; there are lots of fluids in your vehicle and all should be checked, changed or maintained as recommended by your vehicle’s manufacture.

Burlington Automotive is here to provide you with exceptional automotive services. We can perform your vehicle’s scheduled maintenance for you the same as a dealership can providing you with a 30K, 60K or 90K service to maintain your vehicle’s warranty and dependability.

If you have questions as to when your vehicle’s recommended services are due, feel free to call our knowledgeable staff and we would be happy to answer your questions and schedule you an appointment.
