Berry Dairy Days: Honoring Burlington’s Agricultural Heritage
Since its inception 87 years ago as the “Strawberry Festival,” Berry Dairy Days has been a cherished part of Burlington’s heritage. What began as a fundraiser by volunteer firefighters in 1937 has blossomed into a beloved tradition that celebrates the town’s rich agricultural history.
In 1965, the festival underwent a transformation under the leadership of the Burlington Chamber of Commerce and President Roger Hulbush. Renamed “Berry Dairy Days,” the event now pays homage not only to strawberry farming but also to the dairy industry that has long been a cornerstone of Burlington’s economy.
Over the years, Berry Dairy Days has become synonymous with community spirit and togetherness. From the giant strawberry shortcake parades of yesteryears to the vibrant festivities of today, the festival continues to bring people together to celebrate Burlington’s agricultural roots.
As we prepare to embark on another year of festivities, let’s take a moment to reflect on the memories made and the traditions upheld at Berry Dairy Days. It’s a time to honor the hard work of local farmers, rejoice in the bounty of the land, and come together as a community.
Join us as we celebrate Burlington’s agricultural legacy and the enduring spirit of Berry Dairy Days! 🍓🥛
